Every sweater is different, so your knit decides how we fix it. Seams that have come apart and dropped stitches can be repaired invisibly. For holes, we always go for the least visible repair your sweater allows, but a repaired hole is never completely invisible.
Reknitting: For medium and chunky knits, we rebuild the stitches by hand, using yarn from inside your sweater when we can. It’s our least visible option, but the color or texture may still show slightly, especially when we have to use the closest yarn match instead.
Machine darning: For fine knits, we place a small patch behind the hole and darn over it with matching thread. It’s strong and discreet, but the spot will be a little thicker, feel firmer, and stretch less than the rest of the sweater. On fitted or stretchy knits, it will be noticeable up close.
Color: We match color as closely as we can. If the closest match would look worse than a contrast color, we’ll reach out with a suggestion before we start. You can also ask for a contrast color on purpose.

Our standard sweater hole repair covers one hole up to ¾ inch, reknit or machine darned depending on your sweater’s knit and yarn.

Our premium sweater repair is for sweaters that take extra time and care, like rib or patterned stitches, silk or delicate blends, hard-to-match colors, and vintage or sentimental pieces. Premium doesn’t change the repair method; your knit decides that. If you book Standard and we find your sweater needs Premium once it’s in hand, we’ll reach out before we start.
