When your pants fit everywhere except the waist, our fixers let the waist out at the back seam by releasing the extra fabric already sewn inside. The shape and balance of your pants stay the same, with a little more room where you need it.
We release the fabric that's already there. We don't add new fabric. Many ready-made pants have little or no extra fabric in the seam, so please check before booking: turn your pants inside out and look at the center back seam. If you can see about half an inch or more of fabric past the stitching, there's room to work with.
We can usually give you up to one inch, and never more than the fabric allows. Not sure? Bring them to the studio on a Saturday and we'll check for you.
Our standard waist let-out opens the back seam and resets the waistband for a clean, comfortable fit.
Our premium waist let-out is handled by our most experienced fixers, allowing for additional time and precision. Recommended for vintage, designer, or sentimental pants, and required for intricate, leather, silk, suede, or embellished garments where expert craftsmanship is essential.
